British citizen - single vs double vs multiple entry tourist visa?

Am hoping to spend some time in. Russia in 2025 (independent traveller).

As a British citizen, I have to apply for a visa (not an evisa). I understand that if I apply for a single entry or double entry tourist visa, I need to be precise with entry (and re-entry) and exit date(s) and an itinerary of places to be visited. Which predefined route and timings would not be my preferred travel style as I prefer a bit more flexibility.

So I was wondering: if I were to apply for a multiple entry tourist visa, would I need only to include the dates of entry and exit (and itinerary) for the first visit. Or would I need also to include subsequent visits to Russia?

. I can find information online about single/double entry visa applications - including on Russiable! - but not the multiple entry

As a USA passport holder I can just speak to my process. Multi-entry visas only require details for the first visit. All the details you provide can change once the visa is issued as long as you dont enter before that first entry date.

Have you found the UK website for visas? They have a email listed so might be worth messaging them.

Are you saying you can disregard the cities you put in your visa application and travel outside of those cities? Or just that you're not bound by the dates and named hotels (provided you don't arrive early or overstay)?

BTW - you are lucky as a US citizen in that you can get a three year multiple entry visa!!

Amanda Yes, for me thats correct. As long as I'm registering at my hotels each place. But I dont want to give you bad information if things are different for you. I'm sure someone else from the UK will speak up and help.

Amanda Amanda I am a British Citizen living in Russia with 3 years experience of all visas issued from the UK Visa Centre in London. Whether you enter on a multiple or double your hotel etc will register you each time you arrive. You don't need worry about changing your itinerary during the stay, they are more worried about the immigration card on arrival and some kind of registration by your hotel Any questions fire away.
