NA to eastern Russia through Asia?

I've used the Istanbul route from North America to Moscow. But to get to Siberia that would really start taking forever. Destination would be half the distance if I could get there through China or somewhere, flying west instead of east.

Is there an airline that would have routes to both?

You could fly through Astana, Kazakhstan, its a beautiful modern city and very good national carrier. Air Astana. Siberia is a pretty general way to say your destination. It's a big place so Ill assume you're going to Novosibirsk.

kozmikpetukh You won't get to Siberia without making a stop or two. I'd go with the USA to Beijing if you're in a hurry.

I think the shortest routing would be USA to Beijing and then fly to Irkutsk, Khabarovsk, Novosibirsk, or Vladivostok.

S7 flies Irkutsk-Beijing.

Even coming from the east coast (Florida) it is approximately the same price as going through IST - and no need to go through Moscow... I think this may be a winner for me

KO______ yes, I can handle that. Stambul also has pretty long layovers unless you want to pay a lot.

Using the Travel Bear app, most round trips through China would cost at least $1800, and would fly S7 on the Irkutsk legs. The app seems set up to accept payment in dollars, but I'm not sure if it would work.

And I probably won't try to find out, because Travel Bear also tells me Moscow is about $1300 round trip right now, and that's all Turkish airlines

There is no 1 airline code shared to fly in any direction to fly on a single ticket. Even going the Beijing route, you can get to Beijing then you'll need a separate ticket into Russia... if I'm understanding the question correctly.

You could fly to Belgrade, enter Russia from there, and then on to Irkutsk. There are direct flights from JFK to Belgrade (Air Serbia), and then plenty of flights to get you into Russia from there. Moscow, Sochi, etc. From that point you can do the final leg to Irkutsk. That would be 3 legs which is about as easy as its gonna get. I'd look at the Air Serbia website for the first 2 legs. You might be able to do JFK to BEG to SOCHI on Air Serbia at a good price on one RT ticket.
