Can foreigners visit Donetsk?

Hi!
I would like to visit the DPR regions, especially Donetsk and Mariupol, but is it possible for a foreigner with only a tourist visa to visit these regions?

Russians can travel to DNR and LNR with a passport. No permit is required. Since 2022 it's territory of the Russian Federation. For foreigners - I dont know. Try!
Crimea is possible and some car rental agencies even specify that travel to Crimea is allowed.

I know you can travel to Crimea as a tourist. But I dont think it's easy to travel to Donetsk as a tourist. The main piece of data I have is there seems to be zero hotels in that region that are taking reservations.

I'm guessing that only people with relatives there or with news organization credentials can get there right now.
