Hi Irena, in your guide it says about the Tinkoff MIR card that "This card is associated with a mobile application (like Revolut) and can be recharged for free with your personal cards."

How does the transfer work? Or is it that I can only add physical cash to the MIR card that I bring into the country? Problem with that surely is that once the euros are converted into Roubles on the MIR card they will stay Roubles?

hey! had to create an account to let you know something about crypto
everything you have to do is create an account in any kind of crypto wallet with built-in possibility to buy and exchange crypto; we use trust wallet due to its simplicity
then you need to buy crypto — in russia they don’t have too many ways to exchange, so btc and eth are best — and send it to person in russia
here comes the problem with cashing crypto out since russian cards are unavailable
so we transfer crypto to non custodial wallet — we use telegram bots, i’m not sure if i can mention them here 🥲 — and then exchange them to rubles (p2p system is very fast). if network is not busy, fees and commissions for 100$ transaction are something around 15$ (i might be wrong, feel free to correct me) and entire process takes up to 15 minutes (sometimes longer, depending on amount of money and transactions in the network)

I saw that you mentioned that Korona Pay is working again (I can see Russia as possible in the App, but not on the website). Do you know if there are restrictions on the banks you can send to with Korona? Can you send money to Sberbank for example?

You can try with Profee or Koronopay . If you need a promo code with Koronapay you can use this code: 6F2Y5 (you get 15 euros in your account on the first transfer you send to Russia for an amount greater than 100 euros).

Thanks Irena, are you sure they both allow transfers from Russian account to UK? I can only see UK to Russia as a possibility on Profee.

awoodw4rd I'm afraid that Koronapay only allows sending from Russia to some countries of the former USSR, as well as Turkey, Greece and some others, but not to the UK

Option 3 with YooMoney does not work. Or rather that it works only in Russia for Russians. You can replenish your wallet only from a bank in Russia. And also you can send cash to a card only from Russian bank. 🙁

Irena P.S. it seems that there are only few banks that are not under sanctions https://gogov.ru/news/886238 . The best way might be to ask your loved one to open an account in such a bank and then attempt to transfer money that Bank
